With the battalions of the mobile coastal anti-ship missile systems (BPRK) “Bastion” of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet), an exercise was conducted on delivering missile strikes during deployment from the march, as well as from hidden firing positions.

In the course of the exercise, the personnel of the combat crews of the Bastion ballistic missile system of the Black Sea Fleet worked out the tasks of detecting and destroying training naval targets with the launch of anti-ship missiles at the Opuk training ground in the Crimea.

A feature of the exercise was the use of unmanned aerial vehicles to track a simulated enemy ship group equipped with carrier-based aircraft at the distant lines of destruction.

After receiving the target designations, the Black Sea Fleet’s Bastion ballistic missile systems reached positions, brought the complexes into battle and launched missiles at the detected training naval targets. In the role of imaginary enemy ships, two large shipboard target shields were involved.

In addition, the servicemen complied with the standards for the withdrawal of the complexes from the attack, the change, equipment and camouflage of both new and false starting positions, as well as the replenishment of ammunition with the performance of conditional missile launches.

The exercise was carried out in accordance with the plan of combat training of the forces (troops) of the fleet against the background of the joint exercises of the ships of the Crimean and Novorossiysk Naval bases of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet) taking place in the Black Sea.
