In the Leningrad Region, to conduct test firing at night, the crews of Mi-35M combat helicopters of the Army Aviation of the Western Military District (ZVO) dropped NOSAB-100 night reference-signal aviation bombs. The bombing was carried out on a limited area from altitudes from 300 to 1200 m. It allowed tank and motorized rifle subunits to conduct aimed fire, conduct visual reconnaissance, and also designate targets and landing sites for airborne assault forces.

Shooting after lighting the target field was carried out from the armament of T-72B3 tanks, multi-purpose lightly armored tractors, as well as small arms.

NOSAB-100 air bombs of red, yellow, green and white lights are similar to each other in the design of the hull and parachute and in the principle of operation – they differ only in the device of torches and the recipe for pyrotechnic equipment.

In total, more than 400 servicemen and 50 units of military equipment were involved in the planned combat training event.
