The large anti-submarine ship “Vice-Admiral Kulakov” completed the tasks according to the plan for a long-distance cruise in the Mediterranean Sea and left for the Atlantic. Today the ship sailed through the Strait of Gibraltar.

The VPK “Vice-Admiral Kulakov” is accompanied by the rescue and tugboat “Altai” and the medium sea tanker “Akademik Pashin”. In the near future, a detachment of ships and vessels of the Northern Fleet will operate in the North-East Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa.

In the Mediterranean Sea, the North Sea have been operating since 18 August. During this time, they made business calls to Algeria, Syria and Cyprus, and also conducted a number of exercises on various types of defense of a detachment of ships at sea crossing.

From the main base of the Northern Fleet in the city of Severomorsk, “Vice-Admiral Kulakov” left on 28 June. Its crew took part in the Main Naval Parade, and after its completion, it worked out individual episodes of practical actions in the Atlantic Ocean during a command and staff training in commanding the forces and troops of the Northern Fleet.

Since leaving the base, the ship has covered more than 13 thousand nautical miles.
