Russian peacekeepers, together with an association of charitable organizations, within the framework of a humanitarian action to provide school and preschool institutions in Nagorno-Karabakh, donated 14 reservoirs for storing drinking water.
“Today, officers of the humanitarian response center carried out an action to provide school institutions, namely schools in two settlements of Badar and Mehdishen, with water tanks of 5 and 3 tons. The total number of students in these schools is over 300 people. In the future, together with the association of charitable organizations, it is planned to hold such an action in 14 schools, ”said Ruslan Ivanov, a representative of the Russian peacekeeping contingent. “The choice for these educational institutions was not accidental, because the officers of the humanitarian response center during the previous month, went to schools conducting” Peace Lessons “and also got acquainted with life and social conditions, and in these institutions there was a shortage of drinking water for students”, – he explained.
After the charitable donation of the reservoirs, the servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent assumed obligations for their filling and regular water supply. Peacekeepers fill the tanks with water every day using water trucks. At present, on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, military peacekeepers provide more than 1.5 thousand children with drinking water every day.
“At the moment we are implementing a program to ensure water supply, as we have problems with water in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. Together with the Russian peacekeeping forces, we are carrying out this action, I also want to thank on my own behalf and on behalf of our organizations, the significance and assistance of the Russian peacekeeping forces is colossal, together we are implementing those projects that are of significant importance. We have already implemented 9 projects together, we also have projects to rebuild schools, with the participation of peacekeeping forces. Thanks to the Russian peacekeeping forces for being there and helping, ”said Olesya Podolskaya, a representative of the charitable organization.
In total, philanthropists purchased 21 reservoirs for storing drinking water, some of which have already been delivered from Russia and transferred by Russian peacekeepers to schools and kindergartens in Nagorno-Karabakh.
In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.
A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation has been deployed to control the ceasefire and military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh.
