The play-off matches of the Rugby-7 Cup of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation took place at the SOC Sevastopol stadium. The strongest teams of universities of the Russian Ministry of Defense in the face-to-face struggle determined the participants in the match for the gold medals of the tournament. They are the Military Institute of Physical Culture (St. Petersburg) and the Omsk Armored Engineering Institute.

For the third time in a row, the St. Petersburg team has become a finalist of the RF Armed Forces Cup in Rugby-7. However, this time the path to the final turned out to be the most intense: the athletes of the Military Educational and Scientific Center of the Air Force VVA from Voronezh were leading in the semifinals a couple of minutes before the final whistle. Only an attempt by Yegor Fedorov helped the team of the Military Institute of Physical Culture to turn the tide of the match and win a strong-willed victory with a score of 17:14.

Voronezh residents in the match for third place will fight with the team of the Tyumen Higher Military Engineering Command School. In the second semifinal, they turned out to be slightly less fortunate than the Omsk cadets, losing to them with a score of 19:12. The Sevastopol team of the Black Sea Higher Naval School will fight tomorrow for 11th place with the team of the Kazan Higher Tank Command School.
