Russia became the first country in the world in terms of the number of state-certified detachments among more than 90 member states of the INSARAG system.

The record championship was achieved thanks to the search and rescue squad of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Khabarovsk Territory, which passed a weekly certification according to the INSARAG methodology. The detachment showed excellent results, both in terms of training specialists for work in the emergency zone, and in the field of technical equipment of the detachment. Now the squad’s specialists are able to work abroad in accordance with this system and save lives around the world. Previously, similar tests were passed by the “Tsentrospas” detachment and the Siberian RPSO.

“Today you have joined a family that exists all over the world. A family created to save lives. I would like to thank the Russian Emergencies Ministry for organizing this certification, ”the head of the emergency response department of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, INSARAG secretary, Sebastian Rhodes Stumpa, addressed the squadron team.

During the week, an attestation commission of 9 foreign experts in various areas assessed the level of training of specialists and equipment of the detachment, checked equipment and equipment that allows rescuers to work autonomously for at least 10 days, the ability to organize their work and interaction between teams from other countries.

During the 36-hour practical training, rescuers showed good results in finding and safely removing people from the rubble, organizing work on the rubble, creating a safe environment for themselves and the victim, and providing first aid.

Speaking to the detachment staff, the Director of the Department of International Affairs Vladimir Solovyov noted that the successful certification of the Far Eastern search and rescue detachment in the INSARAG system completes the creation in the Russian Federation of a complex of forces and means of three state units that is unique for the world community, fully complying with UN standards. These units are located in different parts of the country: “Tsentrospas” – in Moscow, Siberian RPSO – in Krasnoyarsk and PSO GU in the Khabarovsk Territory – in the Far East. This location, taking into account the capabilities of the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s own aviation, will ensure an effective and prompt international emergency humanitarian response to crisis situations of a natural and man-made nature practically anywhere in the world.

The team of the search and rescue squad of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Khabarovsk Territory has been preparing for four years to get the right to take part in international rescue operations, to be involved in emergency response around the world. The EMERCOM specialists of Russia have proved that they fully comply with the criteria of the international level.
