The Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet) held a joint test tactical exercise of the Metel and Koreets small anti-submarine ships (MPK) with the Komsomolsk-on-Amur submarine.

The shipborne anti-submarine strike group (KPUG) as part of the Metel and Koreets MPK performed a set of tasks to search for and destroy a simulated enemy submarine with the combined use of anti-submarine weapons.

In turn, the crew of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur submarine practiced covert maneuvering and evasion of tracking.

At the final stage of the exercise, the combat crews of the ships worked out the algorithm of actions for the use of rocket depth charges and torpedo weapons.

Aviation support during the search for the “enemy” submarine was carried out by an Il-38 anti-submarine aircraft from the Pacific Fleet’s naval aviation.

In the course of the joint test tactical exercise, the crews of the IPC successfully completed the assigned tasks to search for and destroy a simulated enemy submarine, and the submariners in practice worked out all the elements of avoiding tracking and overcoming mine danger.

The exercise was carried out in accordance with the plan of combat training of the Pacific Fleet at the naval range of the Peter the Great Bay.
