The large anti-submarine ship “Vice-Admiral Kulakov” worked out a passing search for submarines along the route in the Atlantic Ocean. The exercise was carried out using the ship’s onboard sonar equipment, as well as an anti-submarine helicopter, the crew of which flew from the deck of the BOD. In the course of the search for submarines, the Severomors performed anti-submarine weapons on alert and worked out the attack of a mock submarine enemy.

At present, a detachment of ships and support vessels of the Northern Fleet consisting of the VPK “Vice-Admiral Kulakov”, the rescue tugboat “Altai” and the medium sea tanker “Akademik Pashin” operates in the area in the North-Eastern part of the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa and holds heading south.

On September 23, the detachment entered the Atlantic Ocean from the Mediterranean Sea through the Strait of Gibraltar.

In the Mediterranean Sea, the North Sea people have been operating since August 18. During this time, they made business calls to Algeria, Syria and Cyprus, and also conducted a number of exercises on various types of defense of a detachment of ships at sea crossing.

From the main base of the Northern Fleet in the city of Severomorsk, “Vice-Admiral Kulakov” left on 28 June. Its crew took part in the Main Naval Parade, and after its completion, it worked out individual episodes of practical actions in the Atlantic Ocean during a command and staff training in commanding the forces and troops of the Northern Fleet.

Since leaving the base, the ship has covered more than 14 thousand nautical miles.
