“The pavilion was tried as much as possible to restore its historical appearance: the lost elements were recreated, and the remaining ones were restored. The premises of the pavilion now fully meet modern requirements. They are equipped with air conditioning, ventilation, heating, sewerage, water supply systems, so they can be operated at any time of the year, and not only in summer, as before, ”he said.
During the restoration work, the wooden frame of the building was completely restored and strengthened, as well as the carved wooden pediment with the image of bouquets of flowers, which adorns the portico of the main entrance, was restored. “The facade was restored and the building was returned to its original light gray color, the loggia of the main facade was again highlighted with a grassy green color, as it was in 1954. The stucco and ceramic decor was put in order: 18 panels with tricolor sgraffito, majolica of the portal of the central entrance, stucco reliefs depicting cotton. The discovered paintings on the ceilings were cleared and restored in the pavilion, ”the deputy mayor said.
In the first hall, experts returned a carved wooden frieze, which had been lost in due time. It completes the framing of the ceiling painting. In two rooms, paintings on the ceilings were restored, and previously unknown paintings painted over in the 1950s were revealed. In addition, the intricate stucco rosettes of the second hall were recreated.
“The territory adjacent to the pavilion has been improved. Currently, work is underway to recreate the fountain in the form of a bouquet of oil plants with ceramic cladding, located in the courtyard, the work will be completed in 2022, ”added Pyotr Biryukov.
This year, specialists have practically completed work on the creation of a new engineering infrastructure and improvement on more than 300 hectares of VDNKh… The scientific restoration of 23 unique cultural objects has also been completed.
