A detachment of warships, together with the tactical group of the coastal forces of the Northern Fleet, deployed on the Kotelny island of the Novosibirsk Islands archipelago, conducted an interspecific tactical exercise with live fire.

The tactical exercise was held under the direction of Vice-Admiral Oleg Golubev, Deputy Commander of the Northern Fleet, and was of a defensive nature. Also, during it, the landing of an amphibious assault on the Arctic coast of the island was practiced.

The exercise involved a large anti-submarine ship “Severomorsk”, a large landing ship “George the Victorious”, personnel and equipment of the marines and a tactical group, as well as carrier-based aircraft helicopters.

During the exercise, the marines performed live firing from machine guns, machine guns, mortars and grenade launchers at targets simulating the manpower and equipment of a conventional enemy. The crews of the Pantsir-S cannon anti-aircraft complex successfully fired at coastal and air targets at a distance of up to 3 kilometers.

The coastal missile system “Bastion”, stationed on Kotelny Island, worked out the destruction of a paratrooper detachment of a simulated enemy along the Northern Sea Route with cruise missiles, completing the task with the help of computer simulation of the situation without the actual use of weapons.
