During its reconstruction, the method of sanitation is used – a technology that avoids openings and the associated inconveniences for residents.

Modernization of the city gas transmission system continues in Moscow. To date, the first stage of the reconstruction of the gas pipeline on Volzhsky Boulevard has been completed. The specialists of Mosgaz JSC made a tie-in of the first pipeline located at the address: Volzhsky Boulevard, 114a, building 3.

This is a high-pressure gas pipeline with a diameter of 700 millimeters and a length of 1250 meters, which feeds residential buildings in the South-Eastern, Eastern and Central administrative districts of Moscow, as well as one of the largest gas control points in the city – the Karacharovskaya gas station. It ensures the operation of TPP-8, TPP-11, RTS “Fraser”, gas distribution points (GRP) “Broshevsky” (feeding HPP-1), GRP “Gas Plant” and other city-wide gas distribution points.

During the reconstruction of the gas pipeline, the rehabilitation method is used. This technology allows you to avoid tearing and the associated inconvenience for residents.

“The rehabilitation of steel pipelines is carried out in several stages. The first one is hydrotreating: for this, a special device with blades is placed in the gas pipeline – a cutter, after which a high-pressure pump starts a water flow that cleans the pipe from existing impurities. At the second stage, the integrity of the pipes is monitored from the inside. To do this, a mobile laboratory is sent to the facility for teleinspection. A special robot with a camera is launched into the gas pipeline, which displays an image on the monitor. Laboratory specialists check the condition of the pipe and make a decision on the readiness of the gas pipeline to start the rehabilitation process. At the third stage, a composite polymer stocking is introduced into the pipeline, under the influence of high temperatures and pressure, it reinforces the pipe from the inside, creating a durable coating, “said the head

According to him, the popularity of this method of reconstruction of gas communications is associated with its high reliability – in the event of damage to the external (steel) gas pipeline, the polymer sleeve inside the pipe is able to independently withstand pressure and fully ensure its functionality.

The second section of the pipeline with a diameter of 800 millimeters and a length of 450 meters, located at the address: Volgogradskiy prospect, 85, building 1, will also be modernized using the rehabilitation method. The tie-in of the second gas pipeline to the city’s gas distribution network is scheduled for October 2021.
