In the Khabarovsk Territory, engineering units of the Eastern Military District completed the tasks of laying temporary roads in difficult and swampy areas of the terrain using the latest multi-purpose temporary road deployment kit.

The purpose of the event was to improve the coordination of actions of military personnel during engineering work in connection with the annually arising tense flood situation in the region.

Military engineers on KamAZ-63501 vehicles, on the basis of which the kit is located, moved to the designated area, where they measured the density of the earth soil and began to deploy the KRVD, and the construction of temporary roads for the subsequent passage of wheeled and tracked vehicles along them.

Thanks to the complete automation of the kit, which does not require the use of labor, the time for laying and assembling the roadway took no more than five minutes.

The construction of temporary roads makes it possible to increase the capabilities of units when performing assigned tasks during heavy rains or work in flood areas through the use of new high-strength and lightweight materials for the road surface, as well as the developed original design of the mechanism for laying it on the ground surface.

For reference:

Each set of the temporary road deployment complex, during deployment, lays (and then assembles back for further transportation) 50 meters of a 4.6-meter wide roadway.

It takes only 5 minutes to completely lay the web of one set. The canvas is laid both on prepared sections of wetlands and on soils subject to hydration, while ensuring the passability of wheeled vehicles with an axle load of up to 12 tons and tracked vehicles weighing up to 60 tons.
