In Kyrgyzstan, in the Issyk-Kul region, at the Edelweiss training ground, during the tactical flight that ended today, the crews of the Mi-8 MTV5 of a separate helicopter squadron of the Air Force and Air Defense Army of the Central Military District (CVO), based in the Republic of Kazakhstan, launched unguided missiles.

On the eve of the event, the helicopter pilots arrived at the Russian military base “Kant” from the Priozersk airfield in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the three-day exercise, the crews performed training flights in mountainous and high-altitude terrain, and in the final phase of the exercise they launched 80-mm air-to-surface missiles at targets simulating light armored vehicles and mobile command posts of the enemy.

In total, about 50 flight and engineering personnel and two Mi-8MTV5 helicopters were involved in the exercise. The pilots performed more than 20 sorties and about 50 launches of unguided rockets.
