In accordance with the plan for combat training of the Caspian Flotilla (CFL) naval forces, the crews of warships, boats and support vessels are preparing for joint entry to sea ranges to practice combat training missions with live firing.

During the naval exercises, the crews of the KFL ships will perform live firing exercises from artillery mounts at ship’s shields imitating a detachment of imaginary enemy ships, as well as at ground targets imitating the “enemy” amphibious assault. When firing at sea targets, the combat crews of ships will use electronic warfare systems and practice maneuvering when repelling attacks with guided weapons of a conventional enemy.

In addition, the naval group will have to carry out tasks to maintain a favorable regime in the area of responsibility of the formation, conduct anti-submarine sabotage defense of ships while parking on an unprotected roadstead, repel air attacks from a simulated enemy with live firing at air targets.

The ship’s sweeping group of the flotilla in the designated area of the Caspian Sea will carry out a control and reconnaissance search, then the destruction of minefields and continue to carry out mine action support for the deployment of CFL forces.

In the future, the ship groups of the KFL will have to conduct a sailing exercise in a single marching order, work out actions to repel an air attack and deliver a fire strike on a detachment of combat ships of a simulated enemy.

In total, about 20 warships and support vessels of the KFL will be involved in the naval exercises, including the base minesweeper “Magomed Hajiyev”, the anti-sabotage boat “Yunarmeets of the Caspian Sea”, small artillery and missile ships.
