In the 18th century, Vitus Bering’s Great Northern Expedition covered the northern coast of Eurasia, all of Siberia, Kamchatka, the seas and lands of the Pacific Ocean, the shores of Japan, and the northwestern shores of America. This large-scale geographical study made it possible to clarify the boundaries of the Russian Empire. The Great Northern Expedition is the largest tourist project in the world, its goal is to create a new route for travelers from all over Europe and Russians. The project unites 111 cities and 42 regions of the country.
