The military commissar of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Colonel Mikhail Blazhevich, laid flowers at the burial place of Major General Semyon Ivanov at the memorial complex of the Sergievsky cemetery.

The event was timed to coincide with the 120th anniversary of the birth of the Soviet military leader. It was also attended by the head of the department for veterans of the republic, Major General of the reserve Igor Kharchenko, representatives of the city administration, relatives of Semyon Ivanov, veterans, cadets, and youth soldiers.

“Semyon Akimovich, from a Red Army soldier to a major general, served in the ranks of the Red Army, was awarded military orders and medals for participation in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945,” noted the military commissar of Bashkiria, Colonel Mikhail Blazhevich. “Today, laying flowers at his grave, I express my gratitude from the military commissariat, from veterans of military service to the author of the project“ We Honor and Remember ”Boris Gordeev, nephew of Major General Semyon Ivanov for the work done to perpetuate the memory of our fellow countryman.”

After the laying of flowers and wreaths, the representative of the Bashkortostan Metropolitanate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Father Alexander, read a prayer service.
