After reconstruction, a hotel with 250 rooms will be opened in the building.

Metal structures on the facade of the Communications House on Novy Arbat will be decorated in monochrome instead of their originally planned copper – Moskomarchitecture agreed on the modified project for the reconstruction of the building.

“Last year the Moscow Archcouncil approved the reconstruction of the Communication House into a hotel. Then it was decided to “dress” the building in a copper “exoskeleton”. After a series of discussions with the authors of the project, they came to the conclusion that a more neutral shade would look more harmonious. As a result, the color of metal structures was changed from copper to white metallic, “- said the chief architect of Moscow

Sergey Kuznetsov.

During the reconstruction, the glazed facades of the Communication House will be covered with a frame made of aluminum structures, which will create a diagonal geometric pattern reminiscent of an exoskeleton. These works are also approved by Department of Cultural Heritage of Moscow.

After their completion, a hotel will be opened in the building, which will house about 250 rooms from the third to the ninth floor. The total area of the complex will be about 13 thousand square meters. On the first floor, public spaces and commercial objects are organized, on the second – conference halls for 290 seats. A restaurant with panoramic views of the Kremlin and Novy Arbat will be opened at the very top of the building, and parking will be available for guests on the underground level.

The entrances to the building will be located from the side of Novy Arbat, Nikitsky Boulevard and Merzlyakovsky Lane. For the latter, an arched space will be preserved here.
