During the movement of the intercity bus “Gremyachinsk – Perm”, one of the passengers had an epileptic seizure with an attack of asthma. Convicted Rinat S., who is serving a sentence at a precinct functioning as a correctional center, who was following the same bus for a scheduled examination to a hospital in Perm, did not remain indifferent to the emergency and rushed to help the young man.
– I noticed that one of the passengers began to emit groans, and then beat in convulsions. Foam came out of his mouth. Without thinking twice, I immediately ran up to him, – says Rinat. – Together with the bus driver, who hurried to the rescue, they provided the patient with first aid. However, the young man continued to breathe heavily and gasp. We noticed that this passenger had a referral to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with bronchial asthma. Assuming that an asthmatic person should have an inhaler with him, they examined him and found a medicine that helped to restore the patient’s breathing, ” Rinat explained.
When the young man came to his senses a little, Rinat and Valery, the bus driver, took him out of the passenger compartment into fresh air. After a short stop, the bus continued to move until the turn to the village of Polazna, where an ambulance team that arrived at the call was waiting for the patient.
Medical workers noted that Rinat S.’s skillful actions helped to save a person’s life. Without timely first aid and inhalation of a medicine, the patient had practically no chance of surviving.
We hope that Rinat’s good deed will be an example not only for the convicted UFICs, but also for all residents of the Perm Territory.
