The specialists paid attention not only to trains, but also to the entire infrastructure of the subway.

In 1955, there were already 41 stations on the four lines of the Moscow metro. The population of Moscow grew more and more, the city grew, and in connection with this, the need of citizens for fast transport with high throughput increased. For greater safety and braking efficiency, the cars were equipped with a rheostat electric brake and speed meters, automatic sandboxes were installed, which shorten the braking distance of the trains. At the central radius of the metro, the power supply has been increased. Because of this, resonant rail circuits in self-locking devices appeared on all lines, which helped to reduce power consumption by 90 percent.

Escalators have also changed – the drive has been reconstructed, an additional emergency brake and a mechanism for cleaning the step canvases have appeared. To mechanize the process of caring for marble, stations have developed devices for knurling, grinding and polishing facing. We were actively engaged in the creation of protective coatings.

In addition, the already installed equipment was modernized. For example, we paid attention to the repair of rolling stock, increased the overhaul mileage of escalators and cars of type A and B. Specialists began to use mechanical polishing of the body and test persistent perchlorovinyl dyes. To maintain cleanliness, a new type of sweeper was put into operation.

They did not forget about the personnel: the employees were told about the development of domestic and foreign technologies related to the metro. Also, there were production and technical meetings with research, design and industrial organizations. They discussed issues of further development of the metro.
