Officers are trained in their free time, on a voluntary basis.

In Russia, the equestrian division “LisaAlert” has existed for three years, and in the Chelyabinsk region it was created quite recently. It specializes in finding missing people both in the forest and in the city.

The staff of the regional GUFSIN began training for volunteer search engines in September and will complete it at the end of November this year. The course consists of theoretical and practical training. Volunteers will receive professional riding skills, get acquainted with search equipment, learn the basics of navigation and learn how to work in a coordinated manner.

To date, the volunteers have already been trained in methods of searching in unfamiliar terrain, orienteering with and without a compass, the rules of radio exchange and continue to learn horseback riding. Classes are held twice a week.

Experienced volunteers of the search and rescue team note that when searching for a person in the natural environment, a foot search group is sometimes powerless, and off-road vehicles cannot pass. In such situations, “pegasus” are called to help – this is the call sign of the volunteer riders of the equestrian unit “LisaAlert”.

– I have always tried to help people, and when I saw the announcement of the recruitment of volunteers for training in the search squad, without hesitation, I signed up and did not regret it. We are engaged in a socially important business and gain real skills. I met amazing people – open, kind, sincere and sympathetic. They are always ready to help those who are in trouble, ”Olesya Potselueva, deputy assistant to the head of IK-4 on duty, shares her impressions.
