Crews of the MiG-31BM supersonic fighter-interceptors of the Central Military District (CVD) performed paired combat launches of long-range air-to-air missiles during a tactical flight exercise that ended in the Republic of Buryatia.

The pilots of the MiG-31BM interceptors, as part of one of the tactical episodes of the exercise, operated as part of combat pairs. The crews found and destroyed about 30 air targets at a distance of more than 100 kilometers. The pilots performed combat launches of air-to-air missiles from an altitude of about 20,000 meters at targets imitating reconnaissance complexes and cruise missiles of a conventional enemy. During the final tactical episode of the tactical flight exercise, the crews made more than 30 combat training missions.

The exercise involved 12 aircraft: MiG-31BM fighter-interceptors, An-12 and An-26 transport aircraft, as well as about 100 military personnel from among the flight, engineering and technical personnel, as well as the support and flight control group.
