The Eurasian Economic Commission pays great attention to interaction with the scientific community both in the Union and beyond. This was stated by the Chairman of the EEC Board Mikhail Myasnikovich in a video message to the participants and organizers of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “30 years of the Commonwealth of Independent States: Results, Prospects”, which is taking place in Minsk on September 27-29.
“Effective interaction with the CIS Executive Committee in the scientific and technical sphere has been established. Work is underway to harmonize the measures envisaged by the Interstate Program of Innovative Cooperation of the CIS Member States for the Period up to 2030 and the Strategic Directions for the Development of Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025, approved by the Heads of State in December last year, “said Mikhail Myasnikovich.
According to the Chairman of the EEC Board, Strategy 2025 is a fundamentally new step in deepening integration. A special place in it was taken by a whole range of measures and mechanisms to stimulate scientific, technical and innovative activities.
“Promising scientific developments and projects should become a driver for the technical re-equipment of our economies, an increase in innovative activity, a basis for a qualitative transition from trade cooperation to investment activities in the Eurasian Economic Union and the CIS,” Mikhail Myasnikovich expressed confidence.
According to him, the Commission strives to create all the necessary conditions for the introduction of scientific achievements into practice. There is a Scientific and Technical Council under the Chairman of the Board of the Commission, which is formed as an open discussion platform for discussing a wide range of issues of Eurasian economic integration from scientific and expert points of view.
“Today, the EAEU development agenda includes topical issues, a significant contribution to the solution of which can be made by the scientific community of the EAEU and the CIS countries. This applies to areas such as overcoming the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, shaping the climate agenda, food security, digitalization and others. We look forward to your active participation in our joint work. I am confident that scientific and technical cooperation will become a locomotive of economic development and improving the quality of life of citizens of our countries, ”Mikhail Myasnikovich summed up, wishing the conference participants productive work, rich discussions and bright scientific discoveries.
In accordance with the Action Plan dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “30th Anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States: Results, Prospects” is being held in Minsk on September 27-29.
The event is attended by representatives of the CIS member states, government bodies, permanent plenipotentiaries of the CIS member states under the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth, management and officials of the CIS Executive Committee, heads (representatives) of the CIS sectoral cooperation bodies and basic organizations of the member states Commonwealth, heads of academies of sciences and prominent scientists of the Commonwealth countries.
The goals of the conference are the further development of multifaceted cooperation of the CIS member states, a scientific assessment of the activities of the CIS over the past 30 years, the development and formulation of proposals for the optimal modernization of the Commonwealth, building up cooperation within its framework, the initiation of new joint research in the scientific and technical sphere, the formulation of proposals for development innovation policy of the CIS member states, analysis of the state and prospects of modern development of fundamental science, popularization of science and scientific activity among the youth of the CIS countries, demonstration of the relevance and need for the introduction of scientific knowledge in various spheres of society, the formation of a system of international mobility of scientists and young specialists in the professional community of the CIS member states.
The main organizer of the conference is the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Belarus, partners are the Executive Committee of the CIS, other scientific organizations of the Republic of Belarus and universities.
