In the Trans-Baikal Territory, at the Tsugol interspecific training ground, a large-scale tactical exercise was completed with a drawing of a practical stage with live firing, in which more than 3 thousand servicemen of the motorized rifle formation of the Eastern Military District (VVO) took part.
At the stage of bringing the formation to the highest degree of combat readiness, the servicemen as part of the units carried out measures for the organized withdrawal of combat and special equipment from the fleet of combat vehicles to the concentration areas.
Subsequently, the units on standard equipment carried out a combined march to the range over a distance of over 100 km.
At the stage of practical actions, the servicemen of motorized rifle and tank subunits, in cooperation with artillery crews, worked out a maneuverable defense and a counterattack with the implementation of fire missions. At the same time, the defeat of targets imitating the manpower and equipment of a conditional enemy in close combat was carried out from small arms, grenade launchers with fire support from infantry fighting vehicles of T-72B3 tanks and mortar crews. The destruction of air targets was carried out using self-propelled anti-aircraft guns and portable air defense systems.
An important element of the exercise was the crossing of a water barrier in the area of the Onon River.
The calculations of self-propelled 152-mm artillery installations 2S3 “Akatsiya” and multiple launch rocket systems BM-21 “Grad” for the purpose of operational reconnaissance of targets and adjustments of fire closely interacted with the calculations of unmanned aircraft.
In addition to the main forces of the compound, combat, logistical and technical support units took part in a large-scale combat training event. Over 500 units of military and special equipment were involved in the exercise.
