In the Kaluga Region, at the memorial complex “Nameless Height”, long-range aviation servicemen took part in a regional holiday dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the liberation from Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War.

“Nameless Hill” is a place where 18 heroes kept this important line at the cost of their own lives, fighting against the many times superior forces of the German fascist invader. Our memory is the guarantee of the future of our great country. Low bow and eternal memory to all the soldiers who died in this bloody war, ”noted the commander of the aviation regiment, Colonel Oleg Timoshin.

Everyone could visit the dugout “in three rolls” – a museum that contains the history of the heroism of the soldiers who defended the Nameless Hill, as well as the military history museum “Nameless Hill”, the open-air exposition “Fiery Warsaw”, a field kitchen and take a photo for memory at the “Tree of the World”.

For reference:

The feat of 18 Siberian warriors became widely known thanks to the song of V. Basner and M. Matusovsky “At an unnamed height”. They performed their feat on the night of September 13-14, 1943, when, during the Smolensk offensive operation of the Soviet troops in the offensive zone of the 139th Infantry Division, they captured a well-fortified height occupied by the Nazis (mark 224.1) and held it under the onslaught of several hundred Nazis before the approach of their comrades. On the site of the battle on September 15, 1966, a monument was unveiled, and on May 9, 1980 – the “Nameless Height” memorial.
