An eco-route with a length of almost four kilometers has been created on both banks of Chermyanka.
The main improvement works have been completed on two sections of the Chermyanka river floodplain in the Yauza park.
“A huge space has already been made here – this year about fifty hectares have been landscaped. The result is a large sports park. There is so much here: simulators, sports grounds, a workout zone, and so on. This is already 150 hectares in total – a huge territory. And approximately the same territory has yet to be improved, ”he noted.
According to him, the renovated space will be comparable to Gorky Park – both in area, and in landscaping, and in the number of visitors, since about a million Muscovites live nearby. “I think the park will be very popular. At least the plots that we did before are not empty: people walk, go in for sports, ”added the Mayor of Moscow.
In 2016–2020, within the framework of the project, a comprehensive improvement of the territories along Lazorevoy, Chukotsky and Tenisty passages, Zapovednaya Street and the Garden of the Future park was carried out.
This year, improvement work was carried out in the floodplain of the Yauza tributary – the Chermyanka River, on the section from Mussorgsky Street to Dezhnev Passage and along Yurlovsky Passage from Molodtsova Street. The total area of the improvement was 49.1 hectares.
An eco-route with a length of almost four kilometers has been created on both banks of Chermyanka. To cross the river, eight bridges have been made that connect the Otradnoye and Yuzhnoye Medvedkovo districts.
Also, work was carried out to rehabilitate the local pond. A wooden promenade and four view terraces were created here. In one of the channels in the middle of the pond, a gabion treatment filtration plant is installed.
According to Sergei Sobyanin, during the work, the ecosystem of the Chermyanka and Yauza rivers was preserved. “This is a good project, perhaps the largest ecological sports project in Moscow, connected with the improvement of large areas,” said the Mayor of Moscow. He stressed that water bodies require careful handling, but where possible, spaces are created for walking and playing sports.
On the bank of Chermyanka there is a panda park with two routes for children and adults with a total length of over 300 meters. Also, two pump tracks appeared here – for beginners and for professionals.
The historical sports cluster has been completely modernized. On the site of an abandoned football field, a new one was made, with artificial turf and a heating system. Now you can play here in the cold season.
There are four tennis courts, changing rooms and bathrooms next to the football field. There is also a special retaining wall for solo workouts.
The project of the new skate park was developed jointly with the Russian Skateboarding Federation. The new sports facility has a trapezoidal configuration and is divided into two zones. This allows people with different skill levels to ride here at the same time.
The park also has a streetball (street basketball) court with amphitheater-style stands. “It seems to me that there will be much more basketball fans of this format,” said Sergei Sobyanin.
The ice hockey rink with artificial ice and stands can be used for playing mini-football in the summer. On the workout site, a unique sports frame with a length of 24 meters was created for training in the increasingly popular discipline “Russian ninja” – with six route options depending on the difficulty of the obstacles.
The project is complemented by numerous playgrounds and outdoor training complexes, as well as three special areas for walking dogs.
The park is illuminated by 959 street lamps. For the safety of vacationers, 125 CCTV cameras are in operation.
As part of landscaping, 359.2 thousand square meters of lawns and 4.9 thousand square meters of flower beds were laid out in the park. In October – November 2021, it is planned to plant over a thousand trees and 14.3 thousand shrubs in the floodplain of the Chermyanka River.
Residents of the neighboring districts told Sergei Sobyanin that they are satisfied with the transformation of the park – they called the new public space modern and stylish. According to them, with such a level of improvement, the city’s concern for the residents is felt.
“The main thing is to feel it not only in the city center, somewhere in Gorky Park, but also here, in your area,” Sergei Sobyanin said. “Now we are doing most of these projects just in the districts of Moscow, so that residents do not have to go anywhere, so that everything is nearby: sports, walks, and the environment is good.”
According to him, when a comfortable environment is created around, people change their attitude towards their area. They become proud of the place they live in.
Work is being completed on the creation of the Yauza environmental education center with an area of 1.2 thousand square meters, which will open interactive exhibition halls with modern multimedia equipment, a cinema hall for broadcasting popular science films, a vocational guidance laboratory and a cafe.
Visitors will be able to try themselves in the role of an eco-urbanist, eco-designer, eco-dietologist, ecotourism manager, ecologist-logistician, an expert on sustainable development of territories, an engineer for the creation of eco-materials, a specialist in eco-processing, an energy consumption consultant, a closed-cycle technologist.
The work on cleaning the Yauza river bed along Severodvinskaya street and in the area of the Yauzskaya dam was completed, as well as the improvement of a number of objects on the territory adjacent to the river. Among them there is an interschool stadium (at the address: Yasny proezd, house 10), a public garden on Oboronnaya street, an area near the registry office (at the address: Menzhinsky street, house 23a). By the end of 2021, it is planned to complete the repair and improvement of the Kapustinsky, Kolsky, Medvedkovsky, Yasnoye and Lazorev ponds.
In subsequent years, the improvement of the Yauza River floodplain will be continued. The works will affect the sections along Severodvinskaya Street, from Shirokaya to Yeniseiskaya Street, along Olonetsky Proezd and Sukhonskaya Street, from Dekabristov Street to Mussorgsky Street, near the Rostokinsky Worsted Finishing Factory and the Rostokinsky Aqueduct.
