More than 1.6 billion rubles will be directed to the Ivanovo region for the construction of a treatment plant in the city of Kineshma. The order on the distribution of these funds for the coming years was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The money will come from the federal budget during 2021-2023. With their help, by 2024, the region will have high-tech facilities for deep treatment of municipal wastewater. This will reduce the volume of polluted wastewater entering the Volga, improve water quality and the environmental situation in general.

Another order, signed by Mikhail Mishustin, will help to reconstruct treatment facilities in Astrakhan and reduce pollution of the Volga. For these purposes in 2022-2024 more than 1.3 billion rubles will be allocated to the region. After modernization, such facilities will be able to clean up to 70 thousand cubic meters. m of sewage water per day, and the level of purification itself will be of higher quality.

The federal project “Rehabilitation of the Volga” is being implemented from 2018 to 2024. Its goal is to improve the ecological state of the Volga by reducing the volume of polluted wastewater and restoring water bodies in the lower reaches of the river. In the federal budget in 2021, more than 13.5 billion rubles are allocated for such events.
