The second meeting of the interdepartmental delegations of the Russian Federation and the United States of America in the framework of the bilateral dialogue on strategic stability was held today in Geneva. The decision to launch this complex, substantive and energetic process was made in June by President Vladimir Putin and President Dzh.Biden. The Russian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, the American delegation – by US First Deputy Secretary of State W. Sherman. The discussion was intense and informative.

The delegations agreed to form two interdepartmental working groups of experts: the Working Group on the Principles and Objectives of Future Arms Control and the Working Group on Capabilities and Actions with Strategic Impact. The delegations also agreed that the working groups would hold meetings followed by a third plenary meeting.
