Servicemen of a separate guards engineering brigade of the Western Military District worked out forcing a water barrier and transferring a tank battalion across the Oka River as part of a special exercise in the Vladimir region.

According to the plan of the exercise, the saboteurs destroyed nearby bridges on the route of the tank battalion. To continue the further offensive, the military pontoons quickly began to transfer armored vehicles to the other side of the river about 500 m wide.

Engineers worked out the standards for deploying a pontoon-bridge park on the water and organized a ferry crossing to transfer weapons and military equipment of tankers to the opposite shore. The transfer of troops was carried out using PTS-2 amphibious amphibious transporters and PMM-2M ferry-bridge vehicles.

The coupling between the bridges was carried out manually by the military, which made it possible to reduce the total time of the task. The crossing was established in places with a channel width of about 500 meters and a depth of up to 7 meters, both from gentle and steep banks.

In total, over 600 servicemen took part in the exercise, about 150 units of weapons, military and special equipment of the Western Military District were involved.
