In the Baltic Fleet naval aviation formation, planned work began to transfer weapons and aviation equipment to the winter operation mode.

At present, specialists carry out a full range of seasonal maintenance of aircraft and helicopters – replacement of fluids, checking the operability of main components and assemblies, electrical and hydraulic systems, clarifying the list of targeted inspections of systems and assemblies, the reliability of which decreases during operation in conditions of high humidity in the Baltic climate.

At the final stage, specially created commissions will check the quality of the work done.

At the same time, the translation activities are combined with intensive combat training – scheduled flights of airplanes and helicopters of naval aviation will be carried out several times a week in the daytime and at night in various weather conditions. In addition, the transfer of weapons and aviation equipment to the winter operation mode does not affect the combat readiness of the fleet aviation. The pilots are on duty as usual.

More than 100 servicemen of the engineering and technical services of the aviation unit and about 50 pieces of equipment, including Su-27 fighters, SU-30SM multipurpose fighters, SU-24 front-line bombers, Mi-28 attack helicopters, spacecraft helicopters -27 and other types of aircraft.
