October 1 at the College of the State University of the Maritime and River Fleet named after Admiral S.O. Makarov, a solemn initiation into cadets took place. According to the established tradition, this significant moment was combined with the admission of children to the ranks of the All-Russian military-patriotic movement “Yunarmiya”. In total, 250 people received cadet tickets.

In the presence of guests of honor, teachers, parents and senior students, the recruits lined up on the parade ground of the GUMRF College. Sea songs and marches sounded.

The event at the direction of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov, was attended by the head of the military-political department of the Main Command of the Navy, Captain 1st Rank Dmitry Dzyuma, representatives of the Navigation and Oceanography Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The events were also attended by Tatyana Chekalova, Secretary of the Maritime Council under the Government of St. Petersburg, Elena Smyaglikova, Vice-Rector for Branches and International Affairs, Mikhail Yurchenko, Advisor to the Governor of St. -political work of the Russian Navy Dmitry Dzyuma, director of the Admiral D.N. Senyavina Viktor Nikitin, pro-veterans of the Navy Yevgeny Buzov and Kirill Tulin, and other guests.

Within the framework of the ceremony, flowers were laid at the memorial “In memory of the sailors of the polar convoys of 1941-1945”. Further was produced

admission of cadets to the team of the All-Russian military-patriotic movement “Yunarmiya”. After taking the oath, the children received the honorary badges of the organization from the hands of the guests of honor.
