Participants of the international joint Russian-Algerian exercise, held for the first time at the Tarsky training ground of the Southern Military District (YuVO) in North Ossetia, made a fascinating excursion to the historical memorable places of Ossetia.

The route ran along the Kurtat Gorge, which is interesting not only for its mesmerizing landscapes, but also for its numerous historical, natural and architectural monuments. ? A narrow, winding and incredibly beautiful road led through the entire gorge. The views of the snowy peaks were breathtaking. The first and most unique attraction is the Dzivgis rock fortress, built in the 13th century as a defensive structure. The guests walked along the mysterious stone corridors of the ancient structure. Further, the road led deep into the gorge, where the Alansky Assumption Monastery is located. Algerian colleagues admired his architectural buildings with delight.

The international joint exercise is carried out in accordance with the plan of international activities and is aimed at strengthening and developing military cooperation between countries.

The exercise will last until October 12, about 200 servicemen from both sides take part in it, about 40 units of military and special equipment are involved, including BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, off-road vehicles, 120-mm portable mortars “Sanya “, Unmanned aerial vehicles, assault and army aviation of the Southern Military District.
