For the first time, cadets of the Tyumen Higher Military Engineering Command School will take part in the March of the Kremlin cadets, held in memory of the feat of the personnel of the Separate Cadet Regiment of the Moscow Red Banner Infantry School named after the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR.
A separate cadet regiment during the battle of Moscow in 1941 operated in the Volokolamsk direction side by side with the legendary “Panfilovs”, Dovator’s horsemen, Katukov’s tankmen and many other soldiers who stopped the enemy rushing to the capital.
The future commanders of the engineering troops took part in this battle, and at that time – the cadets of the Moscow Military Engineering School. A company of cadets under the leadership of senior lieutenant Mikhail Bakun in October 1941 met the Nazis at the famous Ilyinsky line in the battle formations of Podolsk cadets.
During the fighting, out of 107 people, only 40 remained in the ranks. Under enemy fire, the cadets blew up 15 bridges, destroyed three depots and many enemy personnel and equipment. The survivors in October 1941 soon received the rank of lieutenant and again departed for the front.
In memory of those events, in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Moscow, cadets of the Tyumen Higher Military Engineering Command School named after Marshal of Engineering Troops A.I. Proshlyakov, in the ranks of the combined detachment of modern Kremlin cadets, from October 6 to October 7, they will cover 85 kilometers along the battlefield in the fall-winter of 1941.
Participants in the March of Kremlin Cadets will take part in commemorative events at the places of military glory of the Moscow Region. The transition will end with a historical reconstruction of the battle of the Separate Cadet Regiment during the counterstrike of the 16th Army of the Western Front on November 16, 1941.
