Thanks to the developed city Wi-Fi system, residents can use free Internet in different parts of the capital without wasting time on re-authorization.

Since September last year, 1.7 thousand new points of access to city Wi-Fi have appeared in the capital. This was reported by Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.

“Today the Moscow Wi-Fi network has more than 21.5 thousand access points. Since last autumn, we have increased their number in parks, cultural institutions, student dormitories and on the main streets. It is especially convenient to use wireless Internet in the capital due to its seamlessness: you can move around the city and connect to Wi-Fi during the day without re-authorization, ”noted Natalya Sergunina.

According to her, more than 600 cultural institutions have already been equipped with free Wi-Fi. Access points were installed in the Moscow Theater “Workshop of Peter Fomenko”, the Moscow Drama Theater “Modern”, the Moscow Musical Theater for Children and Youth “Impromptu”, in the theater “Commonwealth of Taganka Actors”, in libraries No. 29, 72, 88 and 75 named A .WITH. Serafimovich, as well as in the children’s library number 35.

53 new access points to wireless Internet appeared in the Garden Ring Museum, the Zelenograd Museum, the Tushino exhibition hall, in the palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich Romanov in Kolomenskoye, as well as in the Phoenix club and the Moscow Directorate for the Development of Cultural Centers.

Tabakov, children’s music school named after Kara Karaev and in the “Creative Lyceum”, in the sports complex “Otradnoye” and the Moscow Basketball Academy (school № 71). More than 70 hotspots provide Internet access here.

Today, free city Wi-Fi is available in 167 buildings of 33 universities. About 12.7 thousand access points give students the opportunity to prepare for lectures and seminars, communicate with classmates and teachers, friends and family. Including, over the past year, 654 hot spots have been installed in the hostels of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, the Moscow Automobile and Highway State Technical University and the Moscow Power Engineering Institute.

Almost 4.7 thousand points provide access to free Internet in the streets and in parks. Now you can connect to Wi-Fi on the streets of Meshchansky, Presnensky, Donskoy and Danilovsky districts. The coverage area of the city network near the Moscow Zoo, on Pushkinskaya Square, Strastnoy, Petrovsky and Rozhdestvensky boulevards has been expanded. More than 700 new hot spots have been added to the streets since last September.

There is free internet in 45 parks in Moscow. Over the past year, 45 access points have been installed in the 50th Anniversary of October Park, the Northern River Station Park, the Pechatniki Technical Sports Park, the State Darwin Museum Park and the Cherkizovsky Children’s Park.

In addition, city high-speed Wi-Fi helps Moscow entrepreneurs by providing an opportunity to communicate with customers and solve other problems in the free coworking spaces of the Small Business of Moscow.

The first hot spots appeared in the capital eight years ago. You can find out where Wi-Fi works on a special interactive map on

As noted in Department of Information Technologies of the city of Moscow, Most often they are connected to the city network on Tverskaya Street, Manezhnaya Square, Teatralny Proezd, Arbat, as well as in the Sokolniki and Muzeon parks, the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve and in Neskuchny Sad.

To connect from the list of available networks, select Moscow_WiFi_Free, authenticate in a browser using your account or via SMS, and then click the “Enter the Internet” button.

Thanks to a single Wi-Fi space, residents can use wireless Internet while moving around the city without re-authorization. However, once every three months, in accordance with the requirement of the law, users need to re-identify.
