Rear Admiral Dmitry Smirnov noted that the preventive measures that were taken to prevent the virus from entering the Armed Forces during the spring draft have proven their effectiveness and will be continued. He also spoke about the peculiarities of the autumn conscription in the area of ​​responsibility of the Northern Fleet, the provision of military enlistment offices with all necessary medical and clothing equipment, food and about the procedure for working with conscripts.

A significant part of the northerners drafted into the Russian Armed Forces this fall will remain to serve in parts of the Northern Fleet. Those departing to the place of service will be provided with individual food rations and the necessary equipment for the entire journey.

In order to ensure the reception and placement of young replenishment in the fleet, an acceptance and technical commission, two points for receiving replenishment, a point for receiving and sending personnel and a temporary detention center for military commands have been prepared.

The prosecutor’s supervision over the course of the autumn conscription, as before, will be carried out by military prosecutors who will be located at the assembly point of the military commissariat of the Murmansk region. They will check the legality of the deferrals granted to conscripts, the observance of all norms of allowance.

When distributing young recruits among military units, the level of education, a propensity to study various types of technology, physical fitness and moral and business qualities of recruits are taken into account. According to the experience of past years, most of the young people who have arrived in the Northern Fleet express a desire to serve on surface ships and in units of coastal troops. For many young men, conscription service is promising in that after its completion they will receive a number of benefits when entering higher educational institutions or will be able to conclude a contract with the Ministry of Defense for further military service.
