In the formations and military units of the combined arms formation of the Western Military District (ZVO), stationed in the Leningrad Region, the control check for the summer period of training began with night control firing from armored vehicles.

The servicemen fired on the move at static and dynamic targets at ranges from 800 to 1200 m from the armament of multipurpose light armored tractors and armored personnel carriers BTR-82AM.

Also, on the first night of control exercises, the MT-LB driver mechanics and the BTR-82AM drivers passed the standards for driving military equipment with overcoming natural obstacles in a confined space.

In addition, in the field, personnel pass standards for military topography, communications, military medical training, tactical, special training, as well as radiation, chemical and biological protection.

It should be noted that during the control check, servicemen perform live firing from the latest Kalashnikov AK-12 assault rifles, as well as RPG-7V hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers and AGS-17 “Flame” automatic grenade launchers.

More than 400 units of military equipment are involved in practical activities at the Kirillovsky and Lugsky ranges.

In accordance with the instructions of the commander of the West Military District, more than 50% of the control fires will be conducted at night.

The control check during the summer period of training in the formations and military units of the Western Military District is carried out under the guidance of the commanders of the combined-arms formations. In order to comply with security measures and to prevent the introduction of infection into military collectives, the control check is carried out by the commissions of the military command and control bodies of the formations and the command of individual formations of the Western Military District.
