The Pskov region became the final link in the rally of the propaganda team of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, organized as part of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of one of the greatest Russian writers – Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky. The start of the action was given in Moscow, then the route of the representatives of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia lay in St. Petersburg, continued in Veliky Novgorod and Staraya Russa, Pskov became the final point.
From 4 to 5 October, a set of events dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the writer is being held at the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Pskov Region. Thus, the participants of the rally visited IK-4 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Pskov Region, where convicts read excerpts from such famous works by Fyodor Mikhailovich as “The Idiot” and “Notes from the Dead House”. Also, the audience of the reading scenes was not only the officials of the penal correction system, but also the relatives of persons serving sentences who came to the open day.
The performances were preceded by long rehearsals, during which the costumes were thought out, the scenery was prepared, the nuances were discussed. It is worth noting that the introduction of convicts to creativity, art has a positive impact on the process of their re-education and correction, which ultimately contributes to successful resocialization.
In addition, as part of the action in the correctional colony, a psychological training was held for convicts, in which an experienced psychologist, a senior lecturer of the Faculty of Psychology of Moscow State University named after M.V. M.V. Lomonosov, Honorary Worker of the Penitentiary System Fedor Ushkov.
The next stop of the propaganda team members will be the Pskov branch of the Academy of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. There they will conduct a lecture for employees, cadets and veterans on the history of the UIS during the life of F.M. Dostoevsky and the architecture of buildings of places of detention of prisoners of that time, as well as present a thematic photo exhibition and organize a screening of the film “Tobolsk Dostoevsky’s Gate”.
