Travel time for public transport passengers will be reduced by 30-40 percent.
In November, 38 new land main routes will start operating on the territory of the Central Administrative District and the Southern Administrative District. They will improve transport accessibility for 1.9 million Muscovites, said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport Maxim Liksutov…
“These districts will have 38 new main routes running along all the main highways of the districts: Kashirskoye Highway, Lipetskaya Street, Podolskikh Kursantov Street, Balaklavsky Prospect, Nakhimovsky Prospect and many others,” explained Maxim Liksutov.
He added that passengers will wait less for transport, and this will reduce the total travel time – travel time will be reduced by 30-40 percent.
In addition, 56 new stops will appear in the center and south of the capital. Some of them will provide convenient transfers between routes, while the rest will cover urban points of attraction. For example, a stop at the intersection of Orekhovy Boulevard and Borisovskiy Proezd, in addition to a convenient transfer, will shorten the way to the shopping center.
Trunk routes will change the transport situation in Biryulevo Zapadny. Previously, public transport with an interval of up to 10 minutes ran only in the center of the district along Medynskaya street. Now, the main routes will also pass through the block near the Biryulyovo-Tovarnaya platform, which will allow covering the entire area with buses that will run more often.
The transport situation in Orekhov-Borisov will also improve significantly. Previously, routes with an interval of less than 10 minutes ran only along the Kashirskoye highway. Now they will cover Shipilovskaya Street and Orekhovy Boulevard, and the waiting time at stops will be reduced by 2–2.5 times.
Maxim Liksutov also noted that in 2022 the city authorities plan to update the route network throughout Moscow. The next districts, in which new trunk routes will appear, will be South-West Administrative District and ZAO.
