The crews of the flagship of the Pacific Fleet (PF), the guards missile cruiser (GRKR) “Varyag” and the large anti-submarine ship “Admiral Tributs” left Vladivostok for the Sea of ​​Japan to conduct an air defense exercise with missile firing at air targets.

The exercise is taking place in accordance with the plan for combat training of the fleet in one of the naval training grounds in the waters of the Sea of ​​Japan.

In the course of joint missile firing, the personnel of both ships will work out the entire algorithm for performing combat exercises at sea with Fort, Wasp and Dagger anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) against air targets imitating the aircraft of a conventional enemy and small high-speed low-flying objects.

Also, the GRKR “Varyag” and the BOD “Admiral Tributs” will fire from AK-630 artillery mounts at the air attack means of a simulated enemy.

More than 10 ships and support vessels of the Pacific Fleet will perform tasks to close the area of ​​performing combat training exercises to ensure the safety of civilian navigation.
