The ceremony will begin at 11 o’clock with the participation of representatives of the command of the Northern Fleet, the leadership of the region, city and local history museums of Kandalaksha, Murmansk, Nikel, Polyarny and Severomorsk, as well as servicemen of the Murmansk garrison.

The Battle Banner of the 27th Gdynian Red Banner Infantry Division will be transferred to the Murmansk Regional Museum of Local Lore, and the Battle Banner of the 80th Kirkenes Red Banner Near Bomber Aviation Regiment – to the North Sea Museum of the City and Fleet. The Battle Banner of the 633th corps cannon artillery Svirsk Order of Suvorov, III degree of the regiment, will be received by the Historical and Local Lore Museum of the Pechenga District in the city of Nikel. The Battle Banner of the 719th Infantry Regiment, which fought in the Kandalaksha and Murmansk directions during the Great Patriotic War, will take a place in the Museum of the History of the city of Kandalaksha. The battle banner of the 272nd anti-aircraft artillery regiment will join the exposition of the city history and local history museum of the city of Polyarny.

The North Sea warriors received these five Battle banners of the Red Army units that participated in the defense of the Soviet Arctic during the Great Patriotic War, on September 11 at the Cathedral Square of the Main Church of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The banners were temporarily placed in the Naval Museum of the Northern Fleet in the city of Murmansk.

The transfer of battle banners to the historical and local history museums of the Kola Arctic is carried out in pursuance of the decision of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, who ordered the return of battle historical banners from the vaults of the Central Museum of the RF Armed Forces to the museums of military glory of cities, since this “will allow people to see the relics covered with glory alive “.
