With the servicemen of the communications units of the 58th combined-arms army of the Southern Military District (YuVO), a special tactical exercise started at the Tarskoye training ground in North Ossetia.

After the march from the permanent deployment point, upon arrival in the designated areas, the servicemen deployed mobile field command posts and provided the command of the formation with continuous communication with subordinate forces and assets.

In a situation as close as possible to combat, the signalmen deployed control rooms and communication stations, which ensured the continuous work of command officers and the transmission of large amounts of information.

During the exercise, special attention was paid to practical steps to set up video conferencing and electronic data exchange between subscribers to ensure continuous command and control of troops in various types of combat operations.

In addition, military signalmen carried out measures to camouflage command posts, equip them with engineering structures, and also organized the protection and defense of the tactical exercise area.

The final check of the troops of the Southern Military District (YuVO) is aimed at increasing the level of combat and operational training of troops and forces of the military district, improving the forms and methods of conducting exercises, exercises and training, taking into account the evolving situation within the boundaries of responsibility.

By the decision of the commander of the Southern Military District, General of the Army Alexander Dvornikov, the integrated commissions will assess the ability of the commanders of subunits, military units and formations to make non-standard decisions in modern combat conditions, their ability to manage attached tactical groups of combat arms.

The main activities of the final check in accordance with the requirements of the commander of the Southern Military District will be carried out in a bilateral format at 25 combined-arms training grounds located on the territory of 14 constituent entities of the South of Russia, as well as at the military bases of the Southern Military District in Transcaucasia – in Abkhazia, Armenia and South Ossetia.
