In Ivanovo, on the basis of the Yasyunikha airfield, competitions in group aerial acrobatics among athletes-parachutists of the Airborne Forces Championship and the Airborne Forces Commander’s Cup in parachuting ended.

To win the group aerial acrobatics competition, paratroopers were required to build the maximum number of figures in the allotted 40 seconds of free fall. Jumps were made from a height of 3.5 thousand meters from a Mi-8AMTSh helicopter.

Athletes from all national teams demonstrated their skills and showed excellent results, but the best athletes-paratroopers of the first team 309 of the Special Parachute Training Center of the Airborne Forces, who were able to build 15 acrobatic figures in the allotted time, coped with the task best of all. In second place are the paratroopers of the Tula Guards Airborne Force, who lined up 12 figures during the same time. The bronze medalists were the parachutists of the second team of the 309th Special Parachute Training Center of the Airborne Forces, who showed the result – 11 acrobatic figures in 40 seconds.

In total, about 140 athletes take part in the Airborne Forces championship in 16 teams representing the Central Sports Club of the Army, all military districts, the Aerospace Forces, the Airborne Forces, as well as the DOSAAF of Russia.
