The work is planned to be fully completed next year.

Specialists of the municipal economy complex will beautify the Big Lazenkovsky pond in the west of the capital. A pond with an area of almost one hectare will be cleaned of silt deposits, a rounded bottom will be formed and a waterproof layer will be created.

The coastal strip will be strengthened with vertical and sloping gabion structures, and a waterproof layer laid on the bottom will prevent the pond from shallowing in the future.

A bioplato zone of more than 500 square meters will be created in the eastern part of the pond. Here, aquatic vegetation will be planted: common iris, marsh iris, lake reeds, umbellate susak, yellow egg capsule. These plants inhibit the growth of algae that cause water bloom. In addition, the bioplato serves as a shelter for fish and waterfowl.

Big Lazenkovsky pond is an artificial reservoir. In the past, it was used as a source of water to extinguish fires. It is planned to fully complete the reconstruction work in the third quarter of 2022.

The list of water bodies subject to improvement and reconstruction is formed annually, taking into account the opinion of the townspeople.
