Most of the plants – almost seven thousand – will go to the Yauza Park.
Moscow parks, squares and alleys will be decorated with plants from the gardens “Flower jam”… The festival took place in the capital from September 1 to October 1. Within a week, experts dismantled their landscape art and are now ready to plant nearly 50,000 shrubs, flowers and trees in their permanent places.
Active Muscovites turn to the organizing committee of the festival and themselves suggest locations that can be landscaped. So, residents of the Severny district asked to improve the wasteland next to house 15, building 4 on Dolgoprudnaya alley. On October 9, they were solemnly handed over 1,800 plants, including willows, hydrangeas, veronica, fescue, sedge, wormwood, physalis, strawberries and many others.
Most of the plants – almost seven thousand – will be planted in the Yauza park. There will be rudbeckia, hydrangea, tree, roses, birch, Perovskii. Park “Gorka”, which attracts Muscovites with its unusual relief, will be decorated with six-meter lime trees, which during the festival could be admired at the transition from Manezhnaya Square to Revolution Square. Many English and climbing roses will also be planted in the park. They are considered universal flowers – they can be used in various decorative compositions, not only in the form of a bouquet, but also as hedges. These varieties of roses are unpretentious in care and are resistant to many external factors.
“In the park, we will plant plants that can survive the winter. Of course, the heat-loving southern shrubs and flowers will not tolerate the Russian hard frosts, so we transfer them to nurseries, where they will be properly cared for, as well as to the botanical garden of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov “Pharmaceutical garden” “, – said the organizing committee of the festival” Flower Jam “.
The botanical garden collection will be replenished with unique southern and aquatic plants that were used on the site near the entrance to the Central Department Store on Kuznetsky Most. It was designed in the form of a stylized figure of a fish, decorated with willows, compositions of reed, yellow bamboo, flowering cannes and waists. The central part of the garden was occupied by huge aquarium cubes with nymphs and other aquatic plants. Boxwoods, oleanders, camellias and pyracantas – 617 plants in total – will also go to the Aptekarskiy Ogorod. They will be planted both in greenhouses and in the open air.
Open international competition of urban landscape design “Flower Jam” and the festival of the same name are organized within the cycle of urban street events “Moscow seasons”… They were held in the capital in 2017, 2018 and 2019. In 2019, project participants donated 42 summer gardens, 15,000 flower beds and four new city parks to Muscovites. Then 7.7 million residents and guests of the capital visited the festival venues. From September 1 to October 1, 2021, more than 30 festival venues operated in Moscow.
