“This is a huge responsibility. I see my mission in preserving the traditions laid down by the founders of the theater and multiplied by Nikolai Alekseevich Slichenko. One of the most important tasks is to popularize theater, gypsy art, strengthen intercultural and interethnic ties, and strengthen the theater’s image. The Romen Theater is a national pride, the only professional gypsy theater in the world. I will adhere to the concept of theater development, which was developed with Nikolai Alekseevich Slichenko. We will strive to keep pace with the times. There are a lot of ideas and plans that I would like to implement, ”said Nikolai Sergienko.

Everyone had long understood that Nikolai Alekseevich was preparing a replacement for himself and, in fact, that is why he appointed Nikolai Nikolaevich as his deputy shortly before leaving. I understand that Nikolai Sergienko is the person who will very carefully and carefully continue what his father devoted his whole life to, ”said Tamilla Slichenko, actress, director and screenwriter, daughter of Nikolai Slichenko.
When appointing the head of the theater, continuity is important, emphasized Nadezhda Demeter, member of the Council for Interethnic Relations under the President of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Leading Researcher at the Center for European Studies at the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Federal National and Cultural Autonomy of Russian Roma.
