The final of the All-Russian festival “Katyusha” was held at the main concert venue of the central military cultural institution. The tone of the holiday atmosphere was set by the beautiful and dynamic vocal and choreographic composition “Fill the Time” performed by the artists of the Central House of Arts. She was supported by the presenters – singer, actress, TV and radio host Ilona Bronevitskaya and soloist of the concert ensemble of the Central House of Arts Alexei Zubarev.
The decisive stage of the festival was reached by 20 best contestants from different parts of Russia, who excelled in the nominations “Best vocal and instrumental ensemble”, “Best vocal ensemble”, “Author’s song” and “Best performance of songs by professional authors”, and artists of the armies of the CIS countries, performing in the nomination “Vivat, Victory!” from the Republics of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan.
The competition numbers of the finalists were assessed by a jury consisting of: Head of the Department of Cultural and Leisure Work of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Viktor Uziyuk, Head of the Cultural Programs Section of the Department of Culture of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Olga Faller, Deputy Head of the Protocol Section of the Secretariat of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS Member States Colonel Vladimir Lut Svetlana Ishmuratova, chief conductor of the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army, composer Ruben Zatikyan, and associate professor of the Department of Military Orchestral Service of the Military Institute of Military Conductors of the Military University, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Alexander Khalilov.
For three hours there was a tense competition. The audience heard works of a wide variety of topics, songs dedicated to Russia, heroes of the Great Patriotic War, the courage of modern warriors, army brotherhood, the beauty of their native land and life values predominated.
The breaks between the competition performances were also filled with music. For example, I remember a concert number that was born impromptu: a wonderful song by Alexandra Pakhmutova and Mikhail Lvov “Let us bow to those great years” was performed by an international duet – Gunay Gasimova (Republic of Azerbaijan) and Kubanychbek Atambayev (Republic of Kyrgyzstan).
The jury decided the winners in the nominations: “The best vocal and instrumental ensemble” – “Patriots” (Military University of the Ministry of Defense of Russia), “The best vocal ensemble” – “Leader” (EMERCOM of Russia), “Author’s song” – Mikhail Morozov (Ministry of Defense of Russia, Mirny) and “The best performance of songs by professional authors” – Artem Kozlov (EMERCOM of Russia).
In the nomination “Vivat, Victory!” the first place was awarded to Gunay Gasimova (Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan), the second place was shared by the duet Gevorg Davtyan and Mikael Sargsyan (Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia) and the duet Yulia Zalutskaya and Yevgeny Koleina (Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus). The third place was taken by Kubanychbek Atambaev (Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic).
At the awards ceremony, the “Audience Choice Award” was also presented to the Otechestvo ensemble (VUNC VVS “VVA”, Voronezh), “Prize for the best patriotic song” – to Dmitry Pogore (VKS, Moscow). The Grand Prix of the 16th All-Russian Katyusha Festival was awarded to the Patriots vocal ensemble representing the Military University of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
