About 13 percent of the industrial output of the entire country is produced in Moscow. The volume of production per capita in the city is higher than the average for Russia, reported Sergei Sobyaninin an interview with the TV channel “Russia 1”.

According to him, Moscow has been and remains the industrial center of the country, although it is commonly believed otherwise.

“If we take on average per capita, then in Moscow 1.5 times more industrial production is produced than the national average, although it is generally accepted that in Moscow they are engaged in something – everything, anything, but not production … Moreover, even in post-visual conditions, the volume of the manufacturing industry has grown by more than 20 percent, exports – by almost 30 percent, ”the Moscow Mayor said.

Today, over three thousand enterprises operate in the city, including more than 700 large and medium… The basis of the industrial sector of the metropolis is manufacturing. They occupy 75 percent of it and provide over 16 percent of the city’s gross regional product.

Most of all in Moscow there are enterprises that are engaged in radio electronics and instrument making. They are followed by the printing industry, the production of building materials, the chemical, light industry and others.

“Moscow industry is alive and well, and it is developing. The main thing is that its development should be high-tech, jobs should be highly paid, primarily for Muscovites, ”the Moscow Mayor said.

The products of the Moscow factories are supplied to 175 countries. The main importers are the USA, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Germany and China. They mainly purchase mechanical equipment and machinery, electrical equipment (including telecommunications), as well as plastic products.
