The results of the final of the IV National Championship “Skills of the Wise”, which is held according to WorldSkills standards for specialists over 50 years old, were summed up in Novosibirsk. The Moscow team became the most numerous, the contestants demonstrated their skills in 25 types of professional activity.
The competition was held in a mixed format: the participants performed at the sites of educational organizations in the regions, and experts assessed the quality of the work performed from a special control center located in Novosibirsk. Muscovites showed their skills in 18 colleges in the capital.
According to Lyudmila Ivanova, the winner in the “Painting and decorative works” nomination, an employee of the College of Architecture, Design and Reengineering No. 26, the championship gave an opportunity to assess their competencies and experience, to feel the demand.
“The support of the college, coaches helped me to believe that I can work at a high level, my skills are relevant, and experience is an advantage. With such confidence, I went to the championship only for gold. At the competition, I was given the task of working with wallpaper and frescoes. Everything had to be done both efficiently and quickly, ”she said.
The final of the IV National Championship “Skills of the Wise” was held from 6 to 8 October. More than 300 contestants from 62 regions of Russia competed for medals in 28 nominations. The Moscow team has 22 medals: 13 gold, six silver and three bronze.
Championship of professional skills “Skills of the wise” for professionals over 50 years old has been held since 2018. Thanks to him, older people can demonstrate competitiveness and professional longevity, and employers can remember the advantages of the skills of mature specialists.
