About 1.5 thousand recruits from the Arctic regions of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Irkutsk Region, the Perm Territory and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District will join the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. This was announced by the head of the organizational and mobilization department of the Central Military District (CVO), Major General Alexander Linkov.

“Almost 1.5 thousand recruits will be sent to serve in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation from the remote northern territories of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Irkutsk Region, Perm Territory and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug by the military commissariats of the military district,” said Major General Alexander Linkov. He noted that among the recruits are also representatives of the indigenous peoples of the Far North: Mansi, Khanty, Selkups, Komi and Nenets.

Young people living in tundra camps in remote northern territories will be transported to the collection points of the regions by scheduled helicopters and airplanes.

In total, during the autumn 2021 draft for military service from the regions of the Central Military District, more than 54 thousand young people will be sent to the troops, which is more than a third of the all-Russian conscription assignment. The conscription on the territory of the Central Military District takes place in 29 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
