Signal and electronic warfare (EW) units of the Caspian Flotilla (CFL) conducted a joint exercise on the impact and suppression of communication channels, control and navigation systems of the imaginary enemy.

The servicemen deployed the newest electronic warfare systems and mobile communication points based on command and staff vehicles (KShM) equipped with third-generation radio communications R-171, R-173 and R-134 from a marching position to a combat position.

The EW specialists found sources of radio-electronic radiation, suppressed the navigation systems of the simulated enemy using the latest radio-electronic warfare stations and complexes “Borisoglebsk” and “Zhitel”. Also, EW specialists conducted radio reconnaissance by determining the points of radiation of devices in cellular networks, plotted the locations of subscriber points on a digital map.

The military signalmen of the KFL complied with the standards for the engineering equipment of the command post, the deployment and operation of equipment stations and communication complexes in unprepared terrain. We organized communication via radio relay, radio frequency and satellite channels, and also provided a closed video conference channel for the field command post with a permanent control center for the KFL.

In the course of working out educational questions, special attention was paid to the organization of continuous and sustainable management of units in an increased interference environment using the MTK mobile telecommunications complex.

The final check of the troops of the Southern Military District (YuVO) is aimed at increasing the level of combat and operational training of troops and forces of the military district, improving the forms and methods of conducting exercises, exercises and training, taking into account the evolving situation within the boundaries of responsibility.

By the decision of the commander of the Southern Military District, General of the Army Alexander Dvornikov, the integrated commissions will assess the ability of the commanders of subunits, military units and formations to make non-standard decisions in modern combat conditions, their ability to manage attached tactical groups of combat arms.

The main activities of the final check in accordance with the requirements of the commander of the Southern Military District will be carried out in a bilateral format at 25 combined-arms training grounds located on the territory of 14 constituent entities of the South of Russia, as well as at the military bases of the Southern Military District in Transcaucasia – in Abkhazia, Armenia and South Ossetia.
