An additional 490 million rubles will be allocated to subsidize air travel for residents of the Far Eastern Federal District. The order on the allocation of these funds from the reserve fund was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The solution will save another 50 thousand people on air travel. The discounted tickets will go on sale shortly. For this, the Ministry of Transport must complete all the necessary approvals and conclude agreements with air carriers.
“All organizational work should be done as soon as possible, so that no later than the beginning of next week, people can already purchase such air tickets,” Mikhail Mishustin emphasized at a meeting with Deputy Prime Ministers.
Thanks to subsidies, residents of the Far East will be able to purchase tickets at a reduced fare for flights to the most popular destinations. These are, in particular, routes to Moscow from Chita and Yakutsk, to St. Petersburg from Blagoveshchensk, Vladivostok, Mirny, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Khabarovsk, Chita, Yakutsk. It will also be possible to buy air tickets from Moscow to Magadan, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at a discount.
Air tickets at a discounted rate will be available to all categories of passengers registered at the place of residence in the territory of the constituent entity of the Far Eastern Federal District.
This is not the first tranche allocated by the Government to subsidize air travel for residents of the Far East. At the beginning of 2021, 5 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes. With their help, about 450 thousand people were able to purchase tickets at a reduced rate.
